LA|Cheap & Delicious! This Izakaya in West Covina is the Real Deal!!
Just found out one of my favorite Japanese spots has a branch near my home— so I immediately grabbed a friend to check it out! 🏃♀️💨 🦀 King Crab Bites My all-time favorite! Real crab meat, not imitation crab sticks! A must-order every time. 🍄 King Mushroom Steak First bite totally blew me away—so juicy and packed with buttery aroma! The sauce is flavorful and rich—highly recommended, do not skip this!!! ⚡️ Kani Crab Stick Fried crab sticks—a fun little snack I’d never tried before. Crispy, savory, and perfect for munching while chatting (doesn’t fill you up too fast 😂). 💥 Shrimp & Veggie Tempura Light and crispy batter, not oily at all. Even better with dipping sauce! 🍗 Sesame Chicken Classic Japanese-style karaage—crispy outside, tender and juicy inside. 🦑 Calamari Rings & Fried Baby Octopus I always order fried squid and octopus! (I even buy that frozen Trader Joe’s calamari ring every time 😆) 🌶️ Sweet Pork Ribs A slightly spicy, sweet-and-sour American-Chinese style rib—pretty appetizing! 🍔 Hamburg Steak Sweet mushroom-onion sauce over a juicy patty and a runny fried egg— feels like a really tasty “kids’ menu” dish in the best way lol. 🫛 Spicy Garlic Edamame & Garlic Green Beans Those little sides you can’t quite explain, but always end up ordering… 🫑 Shishito Pepper Japanese shishito peppers—mild and fragrant, great with drinks! 🍜 Chicken Cutlet Ramen Even the spiciest level lets the rich, savory broth shine through. Noodles were nicely chewy—loved it! 🍲 Ribeye Sukiyaki Don’t underestimate this small pot! The soy-based broth is perfectly balanced—savory and slightly sweet. The ribeye is tender, and the mushrooms and tofu soak up all the flavor. 🍣 Truffle Hunter Roll & Baja California Roll So many roll choices it was hard to decide! The truffle roll is fragrant and paired with onion strips—almost like a carpaccio vibe. The Baja roll has a spicy kick with a touch of Mexican flair—I really enjoyed it! #LAEats #LAFoodExplorer #LALife #LosAngeles #LAFood #LAJapaneseFood #LATravel
