LA|Rowland Heights Charcoal-Grilled Seafood! Live Abalone Included
Was complaining to a friend that I always have to drive to Ktown for Korean-style grilled seafood — friend said there’s a long-standing spot in RH that’s really good. Looked it up and saw they have live abalone — instantly hooked! We ordered a 2-person combo + live abalone, which comes with sides: sashimi salad, corn cheese, steamed egg, etc. The sides were a pleasant surprise — corn cheese was sweet and creamy, way better than most Korean restaurant side dishes — I went ham on it 😂 Steamed egg was so good we ordered a second one lol. Sashimi salad had a sweet-sour-spicy kick, almost like Sprite flavor — very appetizing. Also, they use charcoal grilling — more places these days use electric grills, which just don’t hit the same. The seafood came out on a huge boat platter — The abalone was still moving when served, dancing on the grill 💃🏻 Freshness level: 100%!!! So good, love it. Clams, mussels, etc. weren’t live but still fresh and clean — no sand, no weird taste, just sweet and briny. Oysters were plump and juicy. Butter garlic scallops were rich and fragrant. Marinated baby octopus was sweet-spicy and tasty. The staff grilled everything for us and even cut it into bite-sized pieces — no need to worry about doneness. Just be careful — the shells are SUPER HOT!!! ⚠️ After tax ~$50+ per person — great value for the experience. 🅿️ Plenty of parking in the plaza. 🐚 The Pirate Seafood BBQ 📍 19045 Colima Rd, Rowland Heights, CA 91748 #LosAngeles #LAExploration #SeafoodBBQ #LAEats #LADining #LAKoreanFood
