LA's Newly Opened Yakitori Omakase | Yakun 🐦

Just tried YAKUN, a brand-new yakitori omakase spot in Sawtelle, on Christmas Day! 🎄 This 8-seat counter just opened two weeks ago. We were the only guests at the bar tonight—live music and a singer performing Christmas songs added such a festive vibe 🎶🎤 Great ambiance, excellent service, and the quality totally delivered! The omakase included around 22 courses 🍽️ (5 Appetizers + 15 Yakitori Skewers + 1 Entrée + 1 Dessert) The meal lasted nearly two hours, with a comfortable, well-paced flow ⏳ 🐟 Appetizers like sashimi and crab were fresh and light, highlighting the natural flavors of the ingredients. 🍢 The yakitori selection was solid—pork, chicken, thigh, skin, liver, shishito peppers… you name it! The portions were generous—I was already full halfway through 😅 Towards the end, some glazed skewers started tasting a bit salty to me 🧂 🍹 Had three mocktails—all delicious! The bar uses fresh fruit juice squeezed that morning for evening drinks 🍍🍓 Service was truly outstanding—they adjusted skewer doneness and pacing upon request.
