LA | Jumbo Uni Rice Bowl & Korean Marinated Crab š¦
Finding this spot was a happy accidentāand so worth it! We originally planned to go to Master Ha (great ambiance but there was a wait and a slight odor), but my Bay Area friend was craving marinated crab, so we switched to this place. No wait, no fussājust delicious, cool dishes perfect for a hot summer day! š” Jumbo Uni Donburi They offer several tiers of uni rice bowls depending on the size of the sea urchin. We went all out with the Jumbo optionāeven the staff said they hadnāt seen uni this large in a while! Each spoonful was creamy, sweet, and luxurious, especially with the ikura and perfectly seasoned rice. Pure satisfaction!! š¦ Signature Marinated Crab (Ganjang Gejang) A must-order! The crab was fresh, not fishy at all, and served with sides like seaweed salad, roasted seaweed, and sesame leaves. We mixed the crab roe and meat with riceāso flavorful, though a bit salty if you overindulge. š Marinated Salmon, Abalone & Shrimp Not the star of the menu, but still delicious! The salmon was silky, the abalone tender and springy, and the shrimp naturally sweet. š² Surprise Side Dish: Braised Salmon Head Iāve never seen a banchan like this beforeāand wow, was it a revelation! The salmon head was braised in Korean spicy sauce until the meat was fall-apart tender and deeply flavorful. We didnāt leave a single bite! We visited on a Friday at 6 PM and didnāt have to wait. A smooth, satisfying experience from start to finish. š©š» By day, Iām a data scientist in tech; by night, a foodie sharing hidden gems across LA and the Bay.
