LA | Ojiya: Hard to Judge… Until You See the Price 💸
Came across this place through recommendations and had high hopes—but as someone who usually picks spots well, I have to admit I felt a bit misled this time. Seeing Ojiya hyped up so much online left me… puzzled. 🧐 Arriving was a nostalgic moment—it shares a plaza with Inaba, which brought back memories (more on that later). Ordering without checking prices, I took one bite of each dish and almost gasped. The cream pasta was decent, but nearly everything else missed the mark. Salmon sashimi was fine—fresh, given the steady traffic—but the monkfish liver was truly disappointing. Especially ironic, since Inaba next door is known for having some of the best ankimo in LA. 🐟😣 The beef dish was seasoned well but let down by poor-quality meat. Then the bill arrived—and my perspective shifted instantly. Two people, multiple dishes, plus drinks… for under $90. At that price, suddenly, everything tasted… acceptable. Maybe even fair. 😅 Sometimes, value really does reshape the experience. #Food #LifeAbroad #HiddenGems #LAEats #JapaneseCuisine #FoodPhotography #SoCalLife #Izakaya #StudentEats #BudgetFriendly
