LA | Ojiya | Hard to Judge… Until You See the Bill 💸😶
Came across this spot online with high expectations, but honestly? It wasn’t quite the “hidden gem” some made it out to be. 🙃 Walking in felt strangely nostalgic—it’s in the same plaza as Inaba, a place I absolutely adore. Talk about coincidence! 🏢💭 We ordered freely without checking prices, and my initial reaction to each dish was… underwhelmed. The creamy pasta was decent, but everything else fell short. 🍝 Salmon sashimi was fresh (the benefit of high turnover), but the monkfish liver was surprisingly bland—especially when Inaba next door does the best version in LA. 😖 The beef dish had nice seasoning, but the meat quality itself was just okay. Then the check arrived. For two people, with multiple dishes and drinks, it came to just around $90. 💰 At that price, my criticism softened instantly. Suddenly, “not amazing” turned into “pretty good for the cost!” Sometimes, value really does change the taste. 😅🍻 #Foodie #LifeAbroad #LAEats #JapaneseFood #HiddenGems #BudgetBites #IzakayaVibes #SoCalLife #HonestReview #FoodForThought
