LA’s food scene is just too good — here’s a roundup of my latest bites across Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and brunch spots! 🍚 Chinese / Japanese / Korean 🍝 Louders (K-Town) Creamy pasta, fried chicken, and kimchi pork stew are top-tier! Octopus & pork fried rice was a bit too rich for me. 🍢 Dan Sung Sa (K-Town) Cozy spot for Korean skewers! Loved the grilled pineapple and cheesy corn. 🍛 Dolar’s (San Gabriel) Authentic Xinjiang cuisine — the big plate chicken and ding ding noodles are hearty and flavorful. Their yogurt drink is a perfect palate cleanser! 🌶️ Spice King (San Gabriel) A long-time favorite! Must-orders: Mashed eggplant with chili & century egg — so savory with rice! Spicy King stir-fried pork — wok hei for days! 🍵 NBC Restaurant (San Gabriel) Classic dim sum with carts — solid and authentic! 🥟 Kang Kang Food Court The best pan-fried soup dumplings (sheng jian) I’ve had in the US! Crispy bottom, thin skin, bursting with soup. Beef roll is also tasty. Go early for fresh youtiao! 🍍 Thai Ruen Pair A popular spot — solid but not mind-blowing. Pineapple fried rice and morning glory were tasty. La Ong Their Thai chicken wings are crispy and flavorful — highly recommend! 🍳 Brunch / Western Republique Gorgeous space with delicious brunch and dinner.
