LA | That $80 Fish Burger — Hype vs. Reality 🍔💸
This spot’s all about the buzz, but the actual experience felt… pretty average. (McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish is looking better by the minute 😅) Located in a tiny plaza with no seating — you eat standing at a bar counter. (Dining in gets you 10% off, though.) What we tried: Hot Cod Sando w/ Astrea Caviar 🐟🥒 — $20 for the burger + $60 for caviar = $80 total. The batter was too thick, so the fish ended up overcooked and dry. Caviar felt purely for show. Szechuan Hot Chicken Sando 🐔🔥 — $16, huge but messy. The bun couldn’t hold the thick chicken patty and veggie layers, so it ate in pieces. Even “mild” was pretty spicy (maybe they mixed up orders?). Tenders — Dry, not juicy. Just okay. Fries 🍟 — Basic. Ketchup isn’t provided unless you ask; their house sauce is quite salty. The best of the bunch was the fish burger (without caviar). But overall — not worth a special trip. They use store-bought buns and cook each order individually, which makes wait times longer even for repeat items. #LAFoodHype #OverpricedBurger #FishSando #CaviarBurger #NotWorthIt #FastCasualLetdown #HonestReview #SkipThisSpot #FiletOFishWins #HypeVsTaste #LAEats #FoodieTruth #BurgerReview #StandingRoomOnly #SaveYourMoney #TryElsewhere #SoCalFood #EatCuriously #InstagramVsReality #ValueCheck
