LA · City Walk 🚶♀️🌆

Silver Lake – Now this is an LA neighborhood made for city walking! We parked a bit farther away and strolled over to Sunset Blvd. You’re better off parking right near one of the shops in the area—it’s more convenient. Then you can easily spend a weekend afternoon wandering around, stopping for a drink when you’re tired, sitting awhile, then continuing your exploration. When we went, we happened to catch an evening event at Klein—there was a DJ spinning tunes and free tacos! 🌮🎧 Klein is a furniture showroom, and the event was held in conjunction with an artist exhibition. Evenings like these turn into social gatherings for designers and artists. The owner of Klein is an architect—they’re the minds behind LA’s super popular Canyon Coffee in Echo Park! They also work on residential projects. We originally wanted to grab a drink at Café Kitsuné, but they close at 5 PM. When we passed by, we saw people still inside—turns out after 5 PM they only serve cold brew. And the owner was incredibly nice!! I’ll definitely be back! 🦊☕ He noticed I really wanted to buy something, so he gave me a chocolate croissant and a sparkling water—on the house! He said lots of people ask if they can stay open later, so he often does until no one’s around. He told me to pick any drink I wanted, so I asked for his recommendation. I almost picked a fancy bottled drink until I found out it was just a $5 bottle of water… 😅 Ended up going with the sparkling water instead. Later, while wandering around Klein, I even got to try that $5 water—for free! Not bad—aside from buying a salad at Mixt for lunch, the whole afternoon and evening of snacks and drinks were free. Another day of happily mooching good vibes and bites! 😄 Have you explored Silver Lake? What’s your favorite spot for a lazy weekend walk?
