LA Christmas Eve Dinner Review | The Little Door

Overall: 6.5/10 We chose The Little Door near Hollywood for our Christmas Eve dinner. The ambiance was truly lovely ✨—the garden area sparkled with delicate string lights, creating a cozy, nature-inspired atmosphere. The soft lighting also made for great photos! 📸 However, the service felt rushed, likely due to how busy they were on Christmas Eve. Despite having a reservation, we waited nearly 30 minutes to be seated. The staff didn’t ask for our preferred steak doneness when serving the main course, and after dessert, they brought the bill without checking if we were finished—along with an automatic 20% tip 😅. It all felt a bit too hurried. Now for the food 🍽️: Beef Tartare: Served with a pistachio-based sauce underneath. The tangy flavor balanced the richness of the nuts perfectly—really delicious! 😋 Lobster Bisque: A bit disappointing… couldn’t find any actual lobster meat in it 🦞. Main Courses: Generally good, though the duck breast was slightly dry and lacked juiciness. Dessert: Too sweet for my taste 🍰😇. For a fixed-menu Christmas Eve dinner, the price was reasonable. With wine pairings, it came to around $150 per person—quite friendly compared to some overpriced “pretty but bland” meals in Manhattan! 🎄 Merry Christmas! #TheLittleDoor #ChristmasEve #LADinner #DateNight #HolidayVibes #LAEats #FestiveDining #FoodReview
