Love the store, stop in most every time we drive through Dillard. Only writing this review because of the negative review left earlier, wondering how someone could have a bad experience in this establishment. I personally know them to have bartered before, as they have done it with me, but I also was respectful and reasonable with any offers. If they didn't agree I didn't push - an agreement to disagree.
Bartering aside, the people there are wonderful. As for the "Do Not Touch" signs, the store is a Christmas store, which means little people and little hands, and with that comes little coordination. Makes perfect sense to me. Being in my 50's (30's the first time I stepped in the place) they've allowed me to pick up and carry around anything I liked in the store. I did however keep my eyes and my sons when they were younger and along for the ride.
The staff is more than accommodating but also deserve respect just like a patron would expect. Don't let one dissatisfied customer stop you from visiting the Merry Christmas Shop as it is well worth the time. Also, while the gentleman claimed you can get anything they have online, this may or may not be true as we found a handful of gems I had not seen before. If they are in fact online I wouldn't have know to look for them, and haven't seen a couple of them since.
An important thing to know about the Merry Christmas Shop is it is along a highway which is mainly for getting from point A to point B. If you're in a hurry or tired from driving, perhaps plan another trip that allows you an hour or 2 of down time to browse the store as this is the best way to experience the...
Read moreI would never recommend this place to anyone! Hate ful old owner who must've had a horrible childhood! We were on our way back from the mtns headed home and my husband wanted to stop in. Me and my mom and grandsons went in the Christmas shop and our grandson has adhd. We got on to him for touching things and about that time the hateful old owner comes over and talks to them really hateful. I don't care who you are you have no right to talk to us in that hateful manner! There are other ways of addressing concerns to us without being hateful! We did get on to them and we did not tolerate our grandsons behavior but he had no right to be that hateful and rude!! Your shop is not that...
Read moreWas asked to wear a mask and we are okay with that. But what we weren’t ok is when an employee who had a mask covering half her mouth and not nose was talking to another customer about how people were getting mad about the wearing a mask inside store. She kept telling that her health was important. If you don’t wear the mask properly it’s not going to help your health or others. She talked about sneezing etc. if you put the mask mandate on customers make sure your staff is following directions. Otherwise cool store just didn’t stay long due to not being able to listen to what she had to say and not following...
