LA Coffee Scene | New Cafés Popping Up Like Mushrooms After Rain ☕️🍄

The speed at which new coffee shops are opening in LA is almost hard to keep up with! This time, I decided to hit two cafés located right across from each other—let’s see who comes out on top. 🥊👀 📍 Wynd 🕐 They were only open on weekends during their soft opening, and I heard the lines were crazy—so I stayed away. Now they’re open Wednesday through Sunday, which has spread out the crowd. Finally had a chance to try it! 💺 The space is pretty small, with limited seating and high density—not the best spot for private conversations. Because it’s so compact, it was even hard to hear the barista when ordering. Moscovado Latte 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Very smooth and easy to drink—not too strong or bitter. I went with less Moscovado syrup, but honestly, besides the sweetness, I couldn’t really taste a distinct flavor. That said, the syrup blended really well with the coffee—no separation, almost like the sweetness was naturally part of the brew. Super sip-worthy and went down a little too easily! 😋 📍 Good Friend Coffee Super dopamine-boosting interior! 🎨 Both sides have tall windows and high ceilings, making the space feel open and airy—a nice cool escape. Plenty of seating, though not ideal for working or studying. Great for catching up and chatting though! Mango Sticky Rice Matcha 🌟🌟🌟 First sip was pure matcha—unsweetened matcha latte vibes, which was great! ❣️ But then I thought… wait, where’s the mango and sticky rice? Turns out they were hanging out at the bottom of the cup! Had to stir with a straw to get that sweet mango flavor. Didn’t really taste the “sticky rice” aspect, but it had a ripe mango + coconut milk kind of feel. The mango flavor tasted a bit syrupy though—summer in a cup, just a tad too sweet. ‼️ Both are pretty trendy spots. Worth a try if you’re passing by, but maybe not a special trip. Let’s be real—LA coffee shops are starting to feel kinda same-same. 😐☕ Which coffee shop style do you prefer—cozy and intimate, or bright and spacious?
