LA Food | The Perfect Post-Workout Reward
After playing sports with friends in San Gabriel on Saturday, I was exhausted and starving — the perfect time to finally try the much-hyped Erwa Cold Pot Fish! 📍 Erwa Cold Pot Fish 529 Valley Blvd #178A, San Gabriel, CA 91776 If you love spicy food, you HAVE to go — it gave me the kind of heat I craved! 🌶️💥 🍽️ Recommended Dishes: 1️⃣ Fresh Green Pepper Black Fish Fillet – Medium Spicy This fish is boneless and packed with flavor! The staff helped us pick the perfect dipping sauce, and it was delicious. The portion is HUGE — easily enough for 3–4 people. Great value! You can customize with sides — we added wood ear mushrooms and bamboo shoots, but feel free to choose your favorites. 2️⃣ Spicy Cold Frog Pot – Medium Spicy Uses a similar base as the fish — equally addictive! The frogs were plump and tender! 🐸 But I only found out after that their Mao Cai Roast Duck is a must-try 😭 Pro tip: Order either the fish OR frog, and save room for the roast duck — otherwise the flavors might overlap. 3️⃣ Heartbreak Liangfen (Chilled Mung Bean Noodles) When the spice got intense, a slurp of these cool, slippery noodles was pure relief! This was my first time trying liangfen — and I’m hooked. 4️⃣ Bingfen (Ice Jelly Dessert) A classic Sichuan meal-ender — sweet, refreshing, and the perfect fire extinguisher! ❄️🍧 5️⃣ Cucumber Salad Strongly recommend ordering this first — crisp, cooling, and great for balancing the heat! 🥒 Now I have a new go-to spot in SG for post-nail or lash appointments! All my Sichuan food lovers — this one’s for you! Run, don’t walk! 🏃♀️💨 #LAWeekend #LALife #LAEats #LARestaurants #LAFoodExplorer #LAChineseFood #SGFood
