LA Food Diary | Er Wa Cold Pot Fish – Sooo Flavorful! 🌶️🐟
📍 Er Wa Cold Pot Fish 529 E Valley Blvd 178A, San Gabriel Every time I come back to LA from the Bay Area, my food checklist grows longer! 📝 Back when I lived in Irvine, I’d often make the drive here just for this meal—and this trip was no exception. Though the pot looks intensely red and oily, the spice is actually super aromatic and not overly greasy. Plus, the portions are seriously generous! ❤️ Heartbreak Cold Noodles (Shang Liang Fen) So delicious!! The chili oil is fragrant and packs a real punch—spicy in the best way possible. ❤️ Cold Pot Frog + Fish Combo We got frog + barramundi, and you can really taste the freshness. We added shrimp paste and preserved vegetable—the crunch of the veggie paired with the bouncy shrimp paste was perfection. This pot is truly satisfying! The dipping sauce takes it to another level of yum. 😋🔥 When it comes to Chinese food, LA’s SGV area really sets the bar high—every visit makes me wish I had more stomach space! 😫 I heard they’re about to launch a Chinese New Year roast meat menu… really hoping it’s available when I’m back in February. Honestly, when will they open a branch in the Bay Area?! 🙏 #LAEats #LosAngelesFood #ErWaColdPotFish #BayAreaToLA #SichuanFoodLA #SanGabrielEats #LAFoodie #SpicyFoodLove #ChineseFoodLA #ComfortFood #MustTryLA
