While eating at the famous Ruen Pair in Thai Town, I spotted an ad inside — seemed like it was run by the same owners. Out of curiosity, I asked the server, then headed next door for takeout. First bought a drink, but overheard they had salted egg yolk gelato — so I went back after my meal! 🥥 Coconut Cloud with Ube Cream Fresh coconut water + ube cream foam Wanted something refreshing with my pork rice — ordered this Coconut Cloud. Really fresh, sweet coconut water 🧊 — ice-cold and so refreshing. The ube foam wasn’t too sweet, adding a creamy note when mixed in. Plus fresh coconut bits — crispy and sweet! 🍨 Candle Smoked & Salted Egg Yolk + Passion Fruit with Lemon When buying the drink, I heard a regular passionately recommending the salted egg yolk flavor 🥚 — so that was my first pick. Just as the name says — smoky and savory-sweet. First bite made me raise an eyebrow 😦 — but it’s strangely addictive! The smokiness really grows on you — now I get why that Thai uncle loved it so much 🤭 My second scoop was Passion Fruit with Lemon 🍋 Originally tried the durian, but with salted egg yolk it felt too heavy and rich after a meal.
