LA Food Exploration丨Delicious Gimbap + Tteokbokki 😋
Recently craved gimbap and remembered a Korean spot next to Hai Ou Market I hadn’t tried — so off we went! 🍽️ Restaurant: YEI SAN JIB TOFU HOUSE We visited on a weekday evening — very quiet, only two other tables besides us. 🌟🌟🌟 What We Ordered (ranked by preference) 🌟🌟🌟 🍙 Gimbap (Spam filling) Really solid! No disappointment here — generous portion and good price. Would totally order this for takeout again! 👍 🍢 Tteokbokki (Spicy Rice Cakes) Sweet and mildly spicy — the rice cakes were soft and chewy. Very satisfying! 😋 🥘 Squid Stone Pot Bibimbap Tasted great with plenty of squid 🦑, though the portion felt a bit small. 🫓 Seafood Green Onion Pancake It was okay — not amazing but not bad either. (Pro tip: The seafood pancake at Young Dong Tofu is absolutely incredible — highly recommend!) 🥩 Stir-Fried Beef Part of a combo with tteokbokki, so portion was modest. Beef was tender but a bit too finely chopped and oily. 🍲 Samgyetang (Ginseng Chicken Soup) Not recommended ❌ Felt overly greasy and had way too many green onions — couldn’t finish more than a few sips. Overall, it’s a decent spot — scoring extra points for fulfilling my gimbap craving! Note: Only three types of banchan (side dishes) were served. 💰 About $30 per person. 📍 Address: 18301 Colima Rd, Rowland Heights, CA 91748 💕 If you enjoyed this, don’t forget to follow!
