LA Food Journal Final Part – Crab House 🦀✨

Crab House was my ultimate goal for this LA trip. I told my friends: I don’t care what else we eat, but we must go to Crab House. This time we went with our Korean friends. There was already a long line right at opening—we waited an hour! Luckily, there was a Korean café next door where we could sit and snack on Squid Game sugar honeycomb cookies while waiting. 🍯🍪 My friend suggested I order in Korean for better service—and it worked! The staff, especially the aunties, were super attentive and kind. 💁♀️❤️ We ordered both Korean and American-style soy-marinated crab. The Korean one was bigger, meatier, and more flavorful. The American version was okay but smaller and a bit fishy. We got the Large Uni Rice… and wow, it was surprisingly small! Can’t imagine how tiny the XS would be 😅 But the uni inside was really fresh and sweet. 🍚🌊 My friend showed us how to mix it properly, but one of the aunties came over and said we were using too much rice—just a little is enough! She really made it feel like an all-you-can-eat feast, haha. I mixed the Korean crab with uni and rice—one spoonful and I was in heaven. Felt like this whole LA trip was worth it just for that bite. 🥄💫 The potato pancake was something I’d never tried before—recommended by my friend who said it’s his favorite. It was seriously delicious: crispy outside, soft inside… couldn’t stop eating it! 🥔🔥 They also gave us a complimentary salmon head—tasty, but huge and a little intimidating LOL. 😂 The side dishes were all great, especially the spicy rice cakes. 🍢 So happy I finally got to try Crab House after dreaming about it for a year!
