LA French Food 🐌|A Disappointing Visit

📍 Le Petit Paris Came here based on all the rave reviews online — “delicious and photogenic!” I was super excited, and while the ambiance was decent, the space was smaller than expected and quite tight — didn’t even feel like taking photos. 🥩 Steak Tartare — the best dish of the meal. Tomato-forward, tangy, and appetizing. 🐌 Snails with Baguette — okay, but note: baguette is not complimentary — you have to order it separately (unlike most places that serve bread before the meal). ⚠️ Skip These: 🐙 Grilled Octopus — very average, from the octopus to the sauce. 🦪 Oysters — finally tried raw oysters, but they were fishy and gritty (bit into something that tasted like a snail 🥲). 💥 Then came the Truffle Overload (my bad): 🍝 The much-hyped $85 Truffle Parmesan Cheese Pasta felt like: $40 truffle + $40 tableside show + $5 pasta Visually extravagant, but not my taste — had two bites and gave up. Maybe just not for me 😅 🍽️ Main Course: Scallop Risotto — didn’t notice it also came +truffle. One bite and I was done — only ate the scallops and asparagus. 🍟 Truffle Fries — overpowering truffle flavor, got heavy after a few. 🧑‍🍳 Service was almost nonexistent — only one server running the whole floor. Bartenders and kitchen staff helped deliver dishes. No table cleaning between courses, had to refill our own water most of the time. 💰 At checkout, there was a 4% surcharge (peak time fee? But only 4 tables were occupied, 2 of which were just drinking at the bar…). ✨ Final thoughts: Atmosphere is nice — good for photos or casual drinks with friends. But food wasn’t impressive, service was lacking, and value for money wasn’t great. Read the menu carefully before ordering — truffle shows up everywhere!
