LA Hidden Gem | A Magical Puppet Theatre That Takes You Back 60 Years
💫 I discovered a living fairy-tale theatre in Los Angeles! 🧚♀️ Bob Baker Marionette Theater 🎭 Located in Highland Park, LA, this place is full of interesting spots! 🎪 As you step through the door, you’re transported to a dreamy time machine from 1963. Colorful puppets dance a Broadway-style ballet in the air. The classic show Something to Crow About has been a hit since 1959 and still sells out every performance! This original piece by Bob Baker Spectacular premiered in 1959. When the theatre opened in 1963, the adorable, colorful marionettes and Bob’s immersive performances created a signature style. Bob collaborated with artists and puppeteers Alton Wood, Don Sahlin, Zoe Brooke, and Morton Haack to create this delightful Something to Crow About . 🌼 Personal Experience: When the lights dim, the strings move not just the puppets, but also the dulled childlike wonder in your heart 🩷. It’s perfect for a family outing, a romantic date, or a cure for the blues. This puppet show has the feel of a Broadway musical, combined with the fairy-tale charm of Hollywood, giving the audience a truly immersive and magical experience 🥰. 🩷 At the end of the show, all the puppets come out for a bow, which is incredibly touching 😭. 📸 Photography Tips: 1️⃣ Arrive half an hour early! The circus neon lights outside make for great photos. 2️⃣ Take pictures with the puppeteers during intermission. 3️⃣ Don’t miss the vintage poster wall in the theatre café. 💌 Tips: ▫️ The show lasts about 1 hour. ▫️ There are lots of vintage shops nearby to explore. ▫️ For parking, it’s best to use the street across from the theatre. 🎫 Tickets 🎟️ Children under 2 are free, and the rest are $25. #LAHiddenGems #FamilyFunInLA #WeekendAdventuresInNorthAmerica #VintageTheatre #HealingExperience #RomanticLife #WeekendInLA #LifeInLA #EatingDrinkingFunInLA #LAExploration
