LA Izakaya Recommendation: Toro Rice Bowl for $30

One of the biggest perks of living near Silver Lake is being able to head straight to Izakaya Osen whenever you’re in the mood for a drink and some grilled skewers at night. If you can’t decide what to eat, just go for their sushi omakase — it’s a surprise every time, never knowing what fresh ingredients you’ll get that day. 🍣🎁 During summer and fall, I often crave yakitori — their chicken liver and chicken meatballs are highly recommended! The liver is crispy outside, tender and creamy inside, and the meatballs are incredibly juicy. Pair them with a glass of sake — pure bliss! 🍢🍶 But more often than not, I go for their signature rice bowls, priced between $27–35. My go-to is the TORO UNI BOWL — absolute satisfaction in a bowl! 💖 Tip: Visit on a weekday lunch for special lunch prices!!! Lastly, a must-try is their dessert — if you love persimmons or are a matcha fanatic like me, you have to order this dessert!
