Who else gets it — I just had incredibly fresh live lobster sashimi in LA! I’ve tried many Japanese spots in LA, but Opus Sushi in Arcadia is easily in my top three. Whenever friends and I want Japanese, this is our go-to. 🦞 Live Lobster Sashimi The meat from a whole live lobster is thinly sliced and served over crushed ice — the shell is translucent, and you can even see slight movement. Sweet, not fishy at all, with a firm, bouncy, almost crisp texture. One order is never enough! 🦪 Uni Oyster I’m usually meh about raw oysters, but with uni, the umami explodes. The uni’s rich sweetness pairs perfectly with the oyster’s brininess, topped with salmon roe that bursts in your mouth — super appetizing. 🐟 Miso Sea Bass The texture is similar to cod — tender, silky, melts with a gentle press. The miso sauce is flavorful but not overly salty. 🍣 Sashimi & Sushi Platter Their fish slices are cut thick — I loved the toro, salmon, and yellowtail. Each piece feels premium, rich with fat, and truly melts in your mouth. 🐚 Cherry Stone Clam Crunchy yet slightly springy — minimal seasoning but naturally sweet and fresh. 👉 We also ordered a few rolls — all solid.
