LA Metro Celebrates New Biking Path With Free Community Ride – Here's How To Join

Getting around L.A. just got a whole lot easier, [cardio friendly](https://secretlosangeles.com/gyms-los-angeles/) and more fun. LA Metro has officially opened its new Rail to Rail Active Transportation Corridor, a safe and convenient bike and pedestrian path **connecting the Metro K Line Fairview Heights Station with the Metro A Line Slauson Station.** **Segment A is already open,** and planning is still underway for Segment B, which will stretch the path all the way to the L.A. River. To celebrate this, LA Metro and Metro Bike Share are inviting everyone to join a **beginner-friendly community bike** ride this weekend. The free event kicks off and wraps up at the Compton and Slauson Station, featuring a relaxed **three-mile round trip** that’s perfect for riders of all skill levels. Participants will pedal from the station to the South Los Angeles Wetlands Park and head back through Augustus F. Hawkins Nature Park. Along the way, riders can stop for a snack at **Granny’s Kitchen Southern Style Soul Food**, a tasty bonus on this scenic route.
