LA Middle Eastern Food Review: Bavel đ„âš
Chicken Liver PĂątĂ© + Rose Jam + Black Sesame Sourdough: Pretty fragrant, but the rose and chicken liver flavors were both quite subtle. The pĂątĂ© leaned sweet, and the sourdough wasnât freshly bakedâstill tasty though! đđ Hummus + Minced Duck + Pita Bread: The hummus was a bit runnyânot my preferred texture. The duck mince was more salty than duck-flavored, but the pita was soft, fluffy, and freshly baked! đŠđ§ Grilled King Oyster Mushrooms: So delicious! Smoky charred flavor, juicy mushrooms, and the green sauce had a tangy-spicy kick (probably from chili and lemon)âperfect for cutting through richness. đđ„ Sweet Potato + Goat Cheese + Walnut Flatbread: Unique and amazing! The combo of goat cheese, sweet potato purĂ©e, and pecans was incredible, with a hint of rosemaryâsuch a fall vibe! Not sure about the eggplantâs role (maybe for texture?), but the bread was nicely chewy. đ đ§đ° Grilled Lamb Neck: First time trying lamb neckâthe texture reminded me of chicken or duck necks, with tender, shreddy meat. Probably slow-cooked BBQ-style, super juicy like lean brisket. Served with bean paste, bread, and picklesâabsolutely divine! The lamb flavor was mild, but itâs still a delicious meat dish. đđ Have you tried Middle Eastern cuisine before? Whatâs your favorite dish?
