LA Ocean View Hiking Guide|Knee-Friendly Edition! 🏔️🌊
The full Los Leones Canyon trail is about 12km round trip and features two main viewpoints: Parker Mesa and Parker Mirador. Beginners should choose the latter—it's only about 5km total and takes roughly 1.5 to 2 hours. 👍 First, drive and navigate to Los Leones Canyon. There are plenty of FREE street parking spots available 🅿️. Just be careful not to park in the church's private lot—it gets locked! 🥲 There are restrooms near the parking area; it's a good idea to use them since there are no facilities on the trail, lol! 🚻 Find the main gate and start your hike! There's a beautiful flower field perfect for photos 📸, located at the spot marked in blue on the map, about a 40-minute walk from the gate. 🌸 At the top, Mirador offers a panoramic view of Los Angeles on one side and stunning ocean views on the other! The vista is super wide, and there are even some benches—perfect for bringing lunch and enjoying the scenery! 🥪😄 ⚠️ How to Descend Without Hurting Your Knees: After reaching Mirador, don't go back the same way. Instead, head towards the residential area. The 🚶 walking route on the map shows the trail we took up, while the 🚗 driving route is the residential path we'll take down. Although it adds a little distance, it completely avoids the knee-straining downhill hike! If you came by rideshare, it's about a 5-minute walk from this route to a spot where you can easily call an Uber—just set your pickup location and go! 📍 What's your favorite knee-friendly hike in LA?
