LA Rooftop | Cara Cara đ
I used to think all LA rooftops were pretty similarâafter all, LA doesnât have a dramatic skyline, most rooftops arenât very high, the decor often feels repetitive, and even the seating looks like it was bulk-ordered⌠until I visited Cara Cara today. What a delightful surprise! Tucked inside the Proper Hotel, I had no idea there was such a charming, boutique five-star spot. It blends retro, Mexican, and Moroccan influences with a touch of Renaissance eleganceâbeautiful murals and unique decor that feels truly original. The rooftop doesnât follow the typical moody, dimly lit vibe. Instead, itâs bright, with soothing colors and an open layout. The bar has a cut-out section that frames the skyline, with a row of buildings lined up almost like along the Huangpu River. The skyline here is prettier than elsewhere. Next to the dining area is a small swimming pool. Two well-dressed girls sat nearby, and on the other side, a woman dining alone pulled out her laptop to workâlooks like Iâm not the champion of solo outings after all! One of the servers had striking olive-green eyes. I came here with a handsome guyâash-blond hair, gray-gold eyes. Okay, I admit it: I love both his mind and his face. Not a âhimbo,â but a clever hunk â The food was just okay, though. I ordered the lobster rollsâthe lobster was cold, prepared like lobster salad. Not bad, but not what I was craving. He had the branzino with hot chili sauceâtasty, but nothing extraordinary. The drinks werenât great either; we ordered four cocktails and none hit the spot, though they did help us feel the buzz đ¸ Date Night Rating: âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ Have you been to Cara Cara?
