LA Thai Food | Sticky Rice 🍚🌶️

Recently went shopping in Highland Park and stumbled upon this Thai spot that felt like a street food stall—so casual and fun! We ordered a few small dishes to try. Sticky Rice has a few locations around LA—this one’s on York Blvd, sharing space with a cool bar called The Goldfish 🐠. The bar has a Stranger Things vibe—super retro and moody! At lunch, only outdoor seating was available (not sure about evenings). You order at the bar inside, or use the iPad outside for takeout. What we tried: 🌟 Sticky Rice Wing (Fried Chicken) Crispy fried chicken with a sweet-salty fish sauce glaze—really tasty and well-balanced! 🌟 Tom Yum Soup Different from other Thai places—strong tomato flavor, lots of ingredients, but way too salty 🧂. We added water a few times and it was still overpowering. Not our favorite. 🌟 Pad Kra Pow (Spicy Basil Pork Rice) Flavorful and spicy, but again—super salty. Drank tons of water afterward 💦. Their sticky rice is supposed to be a highlight, but it was sold out at lunch—odd since there was only one other table outside. Overall, flavors leaned salty, and the vibe is very DIY/casual. Maybe worth a try if you’re passing by! Have you been to Sticky Rice? What’s your go-to Thai dish in LA? Share below! 👇 Are you a spicy food lover or do you prefer milder flavors?
