Lake Tahoe β The Bay Areaβs Backyard Playground ποΈπΈ
I used to go to Tahoe every two weeks in winter for skiing β·οΈ, but this was my first summer trip β and it was all about wakeboarding! πβοΈ Tahoe truly lives up to its name ( β "Vast Lake") β it has everything Bay Area folks want for a weekend getaway: mountains, lakes, and endless fun. Here are some spots I loved β let me know in the comments if you have more recommendations! π¬ ποΈ #1 Secret Cove The water here is unbelievably clear π, with smooth large rocks and a relaxed summer vibe βοΈ. Even though itβs a nude beach and getting popular, itβs still worth it! Navigate directly to Secret Cove β arrive early! Parking is along the street π, and the trail down has slippery slopes β wear proper shoes (no flip-flops!) π ~10 min walk down. Great for paddleboarding πβοΈ, and be respectful when taking photos! ποΈ Hidden Beach Visited in winter βοΈ β known for its round rocks and easier parking! π Kings Beach / Crystal Bay Lots of water activities + a charming little park π‘ β perfect for a chill day. π Emerald Bay A classic overlook spot β but parking is tough π¨. Try circling at Emerald Bay State Park Lookout. β οΈ Weather matters! I got caught in hail π β cloudy days donβt do it justice. π€οΈ Sugar Pine Point Beach Home to the Spirited Away-style underwater rail tracks π₯π β search "Rail Tracks" for the exact spot. Best on sunny days β hard to photograph when overcast βοΈ Quiet park β great for boating and picnics π£βοΈπ§Ί Day pass: $10 #LakeTahoe #CaliforniaTravel #SummerVibes #HiddenGems #TravelGuide #BayAreaWeekends #PhotoSpots π»π²
