Lake Tahoe 🩵 A Summer for Water Fun
As a super P-person (spontaneous traveler!), I decided last-minute to go to Tahoe. Drove through the night and arrived at the hotel at 2 AM 😴. To get those perfect photos, I booked a 9 AM kayak tour with Tahoe Paddle Sports the next day. Note‼️: You must choose the Sand Harbor Beach route to kayak to Bonsai Rock! Tahoe has the clearest water I’ve ever seen – so transparent it feels unreal 💎. Underwater, you can spot huge rocks and schools of fish 🐟. At Bonsai Rock, the guide climbed onto the rocks to take photos for us – resulting in epic shots like 🌟 Pro tip: For better photos, book a single kayak! We originally booked a tandem kayak to save effort, but another group was late, so the guide took just us and upgraded us to single kayaks for free! The entire tour was about 1.5 hours – relaxing and fun with chatting and photos. It’s a bit pricey (~$120/person), but if you don’t care about photos, renting a regular kayak without a guide is cheaper ($38/hour or $56/2 hours). ‼️ Heads-up: The kayak lets water in – my jeans got completely soaked! Luckily, I brought shorts as backup 🩳. 🅿️ Parking at Sand Harbor is tiny – unless you arrive super early, you won’t get a spot. Park roadside and walk down instead. The mid-hill viewpoint is stunning – perfect forthe jelly lake! 📍 If you have time, visit Secret Cove Nude Beach! Park roadside and take a short trail down. The shallow water is great for swimming~ 💦 #Tahoe #CaliforniaTravel #Kayaking #JellyLake #WeekendVibes #BayArea #ClearKayak #USATravel
