๐Ÿพ Lake Tahoe Food Diary (Dog-Friendly Edition!) ๐Ÿพ

Since we had our pup with us, we couldnโ€™t visit many of the highly-recommended restaurants. But here are the places we tried โ€” some were surprisingly welcoming! ๐Ÿง‹ Tahoe Bear Tea House Pretty sweet โ€” even the staff recommended going with 50% sugar ๐Ÿ˜…. Drinks were decent, not extraordinary. Very dog-friendly though! The team was super warm and told me I could bring my dog inside. ๐Ÿถโค๏ธ ๐Ÿด Maggie's ๐Ÿ’ฐ $140+ for two A delicious American restaurant! We ordered randomly and everything was a hit. Very pet-friendly โ€” dogs are welcome! ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿด Himmel Haus ๐Ÿ’ฐ $130+ for two A German restaurant tucked in the mountains. Not officially pet-friendly, but when we asked about sitting outside with our dog, the host made an exception and let us dine inside with her! They seated us in a cozy corner by the window. The food was incredible: Sausage appetizer: perfectly seasoned ๐Ÿฅจ Beef shoulder and fried pork chop: both delicious and very satisfying for Chinese taste buds ๐Ÿ– Black Forest cake and vanilla ice cream for dessert: cake was fluffy and not too sweet, ice cream was rich and creamy ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿฆ ๐Ÿฅช Red Hut Cafe ๐Ÿ’ฐ $40+ for two A historic brunch spot in Tahoe. Dog-friendly โ€” pups are allowed indoors! We ordered French toast and a fried chicken platter. The French toast was pretty good and huge portion. The fried chicken platterโ€ฆ seriously not good ๐Ÿ˜… Do not recommend. ๐Ÿฅช Bert's Cafe ๐Ÿ’ฐ $40+ for two Not dog-friendly, so we got takeout and ate by the lake. I really wanted to photograph the hot chocolate, so I paid $10 for the mug and had them serve it in that! โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ“ธ The hot chocolate was delicious โ€” and I usually donโ€™t like sweet or chocolatey drinks! Pancakes were soft and fluffy ๐Ÿฅž, burger was okay but way too huge to bite into ๐Ÿ”. ๐Ÿœ Old Guilin ๐Ÿ’ฐ $35+ for two Stopped in Sacramento on the way back and tried Old Guilin. We ordered two Guilin rice noodles + one side โ€” SO GOOD!!! ๐Ÿ˜‹ And no tipping required?! Cheap + delicious = unexpected win! Thereโ€™s a self-service condiment bar for extra toppings. Not pet-friendly โ€” my husband and I took turns eating while staying with the pup in the car. #LakeTahoe #TahoeFood #TahoeGuide #DogFriendlyTahoe #FoodDiary #TravelWithPets
