🌮 Lake Tahoe Food Guide | Highly Recommend This Caribbean Spot!
Gotta be honest — Lake Tahoe isn’t exactly a foodie paradise 😅. After three nights there, aside from our first meal at Xiang La in Sacramento (no photo 🥲), we had Thai and American BBQ. Not bad… but my spice-craving soul was still dreaming of chili peppers 🌶️😴. Our last meal—Jambalaya—finally brought me back to life! Once back in the Bay, I rushed to Long Men Wan for a real feast 😂. 🔹 Xiang La (Sacramento) Ordered: Spicy crayfish, dry-pot cauliflower, and stir-fried smoked tofu with bacon 🦞🥦. We asked for extra spicy — and it was hot, but also pretty salty. Good for satisfying cravings on the road, though the wok hei and aroma were a bit lacking. 🔹 My Oyster Bar Super recommended! 🦪 Located on the first floor of Golden Nugget Hotel — a small restaurant bar originally from Las Vegas. A real highlight in Tahoe’s limited food scene! We devoured everything 😋. The Jambalaya and lobster rice were incredible — I finished every grain of rice soaked in that sauce! The oysters were fresh and satisfying 👏. 🔹 Chicken In A Barrel BBQ Famous for their roasted chicken, but it was sold out when we went 😢. We had baby ribs and a po’ boy sandwich — pretty decent for American BBQ, though the ribs were still on the salty side. Will try the chicken next time! 🔹 My Thai Cuisine A popular Thai spot — always packed! We got takeout twice. Service was friendly 👍. The hangover noodles were good, but the Tom Yum and papaya salad were missing a bit of depth. 🔹 Safeway Deli Our lifesaver before heading out to kayak! 🚣♀️ The chicken croissant sandwich, chicken wrap, and Häagen-Dazs yogurt were surprisingly tasty 👌. #LakeTahoe #TahoeEats #TahoeGuide #NorthAmerica #BayArea #Jambalaya #Oysters #ThaiFood
