Lake Tahoe Weekend Getaway ποΈπ¦
We spent the weekend at Lake Tahoe! Lesson learned: if you want to book the famous clear kayak tour, try to get a morning slot! We planned last minute and only got a 1 PM Saturday tour. We checked in 30 mins early but were told it was delayed. After waiting, they called us to get life jackets and shuttleβ¦ only to later cancel the tour due to wind π«π£βοΈ (clear kayaks are shallow and unsafe in waves!). Sunday was fully booked, so we got a refund + 20% off for next time. Determined to kayak, we decided to rent a boat ourselves on Sunday. The rental company advised arriving before 6:30 AM at Sand Harbor to park (it gets packed!). We arrived at 6:05 AM and were already in a long line β cars stretched beyond the rearview mirror! ππ¨ The park opened at 7 AM. Out-of-state plates pay $15 (CASH ONLY). We parked by 7:15 AM, butβ¦ the water was FREEZING π₯Ά! Stepping on the sand shocked us β we chickened out and skipped kayaking. Since we had to drive back to LA, we didnβt wait for noon sun.
