Lake Tahoe Will Punish Every Unprepared Traveler π€ποΈ
Heads up: Starting August 17, Sand Harbor Beach requires online reservations β no more first-come, first-served! π© (Tours are unaffected.) Letβs just sayβ¦ spontaneous trips arenβt for everyone! π Sand Harbor Beach We arrived on the first day of the new reservation system β kayaking plans ruined! π£βοΈ π Book online in advance if youβre not booking a tour! π Incline Beach Surprise! This beach is for Nevada residents only π«. My California pride took a hit π. Kayaking attempt #2: failed! π Secret Cove After a morning of failed plans, we arrived to crowded street parking and a steep, tricky trail down π₯Ύ. Not so "secret" anymore β and yes, a few nude sunbathers ππ. π Truckee River Rafting Not the thrilling ride I expected β more like drifting π. Perfect for kids or large groups chatting, but my husband and I just stared at each other for 2 hours π. No backrests = back pain! π Flume Trail Bikes π Finally β my comfort zone! π΄βοΈπ¨ Renting e-bikes and cycling along the lake was absolutely romantic β endless shades of blue ππ€. Best part? You can bike right into Sand Harbor Beach without reservations! π β οΈ Tips: Rent E-bikes β hills are no joke! Bring a lock β we didnβt, so we couldnβt explore freely π₯ Rent for a full day if you want to actually enjoy stops along the way! Despite the crowds, rules, and fees, Tahoeβs beauty won me over ππ. Next time: camping βΊοΈ + e-biking all day! #LakeTahoe #TravelFails #CaliforniaTravel #BayAreaWeekends #EBikeAdventures #OutdoorLife
