Lithuania’s Michelin Star | Tasting History
🌟This restaurant, located in the ancient city of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, features a minimalist decor and specializes in “historical cuisine.” It offers a modern twist on the dietary habits of the locals from two to three centuries ago. The overall experience is both interesting and reasonably priced, with set menus at 55 or 65 euros, and wine pairing options ranging from 25-35 euros. 🌟I opted for the four-course menu at 55 euros. The first course of sturgeon and crawfish was rather ordinary and plain. The second course, veal with beer sauce, had a slightly salty sauce but complemented the veal nicely. The third course featured poularde chicken formed into meatballs with a yolk inside. It was a bit salty on its own but balanced well with the refreshing vegetables like radish and cabbage. 🌟The dessert had a sweet and sour taste, very refreshing and perfect after the two meat courses. The complimentary raspberry-flavored chocolate echoed the dessert, and the overall pairing was well executed. Each course had a smooth transition from light to heavy flavors, gradually leading to the refreshing dessert, making for a comfortable dining experience. 🌟With each dish served, the waiter provided a historical background, sharing how people in the 17th and 18th centuries enjoyed these ingredients and their cultural significance. This is not just a culinary experience but also an insight into the local history and dining traditions, definitely worth a try. Also, their rye bread is delicious! Though it may fall a bit short compared to other Michelin-starred restaurants in major cities, this place has its own unique charm. #Lithuania #EasternEurope #EasternEuropeTravel #Vilnius #Lithuania #BalticSea #LithuanianCuisine #LithuaniaTravel #BalticSeaTravel #EuropeTravel
