💓P1-2 BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Houston (Indian Temple) 🕉️🚗 Finding parking was a bit tricky—we circled around twice before finally scoring a spot! The temple opens to the public after 4 PM, and you must remove your shoes inside. We lucked out with a guided tour and listened in a bit. Photos are a no-go inside, and no tank tops allowed (I wore one, but they lent me a blanket to wrap around—phew!). 😅👕 💓P3 Chapel of St. Basil 📸✨ Perfect for a quick photo op! The chapel’s interior design is quirky and well-lit, with a cozy outdoor vibe. Great for a casual stroll. 🚶‍♀️🌳 💓P4-5 Rice University Campus 🎓📚 We stumbled upon some graduation photo shoots. Since it’s holiday season, the campus was pretty quiet—ideal for a leisurely walk. 🍃🚶‍♂️ 💓P6 Rudy’s BBQ 🍖🔥 This Texas BBQ joint was surprisingly mild… Maybe because we went light on the sauce? The pork ribs were just okay, but the brisket was a winner! 😋🥩 💓P7 The Pit Room BBQ 🍖🏆 On par with Rudy’s, but the indoor ambiance here is cozier, like a family diner. It gets packed even at noon—opt for a combo meal for better value. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💸 💓P8 Houston Museum of Fine Arts (MFAH) 🖼️🎨 Spent two half-days here. Thursday admission is free, but special exhibits still require tickets. We splurged on the Matisse exhibit—art students, rejoice! His use of color is divine. Fauvism fans, this one’s for you! 🎉🖌️ The neighborhood’s dotted with museums. Highly recommend the Menil Collection nearby—small but exquisitely designed, perfect for photo ops and soul-soothing. 🏛️📸 💓P9 NASA Space Center Houston 🚀👩‍🚀 Did all three tours! Book tram tickets in advance on the official site. Since I was already there, might as well check everything out. I spent 5-6 hours solo—even if you’re not an aviation nerd, it’s eye-opening. I toured it all but skipped the interactive games (maybe more for kids?). 👶🎮 💓P11-13 The Breakfast Klub 🍳🍗 An Afro-American-style diner with chic decor and wall art. Super popular! The chicken and waffles are a must-try. On Day 1, I arrived at 10 AM and waited 10 minutes. On Day 2, I came at 11 AM (yes, I loved it that much!)—the line was at least 30 meters long, with a 1-hour wait. I waited 20 minutes and only moved 6 meters. Nope, I bailed. 😅👋 💓P15-16 Clarkwood Houston 🍸👫 A bar perfect for weeknight walk-ins. Great for chatting with friends over cocktails. The specialty shots are top-notch! My friend and I did two rounds and still didn’t want to leave. The vibe is immaculate. 🥂🎶 #TravelSnippets #MyTravelDiary #HoustonLife 🏙️😎
