Lobsta Land: Only Open 8 Months a Year š¦
Lobsta Land: Only Open 8 Months a Year š¦ After wandering around Rockport yesterday, we headed straight here for dinner! My friend didnāt wait at all for lunch, but we waited a whole hour for our 6 PM dinner slot⦠Still, we got super luckyāwe scored an outdoor table with a view of the marsh at dusk! š The scenery was so calming, it totally made the wait worth it. Though fair warning: the food took forever to come (probably ācause they were swamped)āI was this close to starving! š Letās Talk Food! š“ 1. New England Clam Chowder š„£ The creaminess was just right (not too heavy!), and it was packed with seafoodāperfect for anyone who doesnāt like super rich chowder! Every spoonful had clams, so you never feel like youāre just eating soup. Yum! š 2. Crispy Calamari with Marinara Dipping Sauce š¤ The fried calamari was solidānothing mind-blowing, but they added banana peppers, which gave it a tangy-spicy kick! š¶ļø The marinara sauce was classic, but the peppers really made it stand out. 3. Sicilian Style Mussels š The wine flavor was pretty subtle, and there wasnāt much parsley, but they loaded it up with minced garlicāso fragrant! The mussels themselves were fresh, though not super tender. My only complaint? They gave one tiny crostini for a whole bowl of broth! š„ Itās crispy, sure, but it canāt soak up any of that delicious soup. I was this close to asking the server for extra bread to dip! 4. Spicy Littlenecks (No Pic š¢) Super unique flavor, but a bit greasy. The sauce was boldāspicy saffron lobster broth, Thai chili, Taso ham, garlic, tomatoes, and white wine. š„ The crostini problem struck again (still no soup-soaking!), and the broth was definitely oily. That said, the tomatoes (sweet and tangy!) and ham at the bottom were top-tierāyou could tell they used good ingredients. But honestly? I donāt think Iād order this again. 5. Lobster š¦ So fresh! If you donāt wanna deal with cracking shells, get the lobster rollāeasy, messy, and delicious. 6. Paella š Before ordering, I asked the server: āPaella, lobster bouillabaisse, or seafood risottoāwhich is a must-try?ā She said āeveryone loves the paellaā without hesitation⦠and Iām so glad I listened! š It was loaded with seafood: big chunks of lobster meat and 3-4 scallops eachāall fresh! The rice was decent, but letās be real: shoveling that much seafood into my mouth was the real highlight. Next time, Iām trying the lobster bouillabaisse + seafood risottoāsoup with rice? My forever favorite! ā¤ļø Honorable Mention: Parmesan Truffle Fries š We saw a huge portion at the next table and barely resisted (carbs are dangerous!). The (official website) pic looks amazingāthin, golden, and sprinkled with parsley. Next time, Iām definitely getting theseāthey look too good to pass up! All in all, Iāll 100% come back for dinner next time Iām in Rockport⦠but Iāll remember to make a reservation first! No more hour-long waits for me! ā° Address: 84 Causeway Street, Gloucester, MA 01930 #rockport#lobster#seafood#sunset#boston#travel#massachusetts#gloucester#capeAnn#newengland
