Los Angeles’ Hidden Forest-Themed Bistro Nestled in the City 🌿🍽️

The food here really depends on which location you visit! For example, the first night we went to BACARI CDL— Every dish was impressive, nearly perfect overall: 9/10! ✨ 🫜 Rainbow Beets Roasted tri-color beets with goat cheese, tarragon, and ginger dressing—hinted with cumin, like a roasted beet version of lamb skewers! 🍢 🐟 Sea Bass Highly recommended by the staff. The fish itself wasn’t super fresh, but the seasoning stood out—tangy and flavorful. 🐑 Lamb Hummus One of my favorites! Rich lamb flavor with warm pita—like a Mediterranean-style “roujiamo” 🌮. Served with celery, carrots, and cucumber for dipping. 🍕 Asian Pear & Brie Pizza A Roman-style pizza with thick pear slices and brie cheese—though the pear flavor was subtle, more decorative than dominant. 🍰 Pistachio Cremeschnitte A pistachio-filled mille-feuille—crispy layers with cool pistachio cream. A perfect, elevated ending to the meal! 🥰 ‼️ But when we visited Bacari W. 3rd the next afternoon— Though the ambiance was nicer than the Glendale spot, the food and service were seriously disappointing. Below passing grade. 😓 🦐 Shrimp Ceviche Overwhelmingly tangy—shrimp marinated in citrus-fennel vinegar. Served with lime-chili chips that were also intensely flavored. 🍚 Mujadara Basically heavily spiced fried rice—oily and reminiscent of Korean-style stir-fry. 🍖 Glazed Pork Belly Way too sweet, like candied pork. The lean part was dry, the fat was overly greasy—not a great combo. 🫓 Salatim The pita was good, served with three dips. 🐙 Octopus Just okay—mildly sour and pretty ordinary. 🍔 Fried Chicken Slider A no-go 🚫—overly salty sauce, dry chicken, though the Hawaiian roll was nicely sweet. 🍕 Bacon & Double Cream Brie Pizza Extremely oily and not enjoyable. 🥩 Petit Filet My friend said it tasted sour and had a strong meaty odor. 🍨 The Best Cake with Ice Cream Dates soaked in overly sweet caramel sauce—made the ice cream beside it taste bland.
