So, funny enough—I’ve always had great experiences at Bacari. The other locations (PDR & Culver) have always been lovely to visit and I’ve always gone out of my way to spend more than at least $160, per visit, along with tipping generously, because the service
However, my experience in the GLENDALE location yesterday was unfortunate. As always, the food was exquisite, but the experience that my girlfriend and I had, was not. Our Asian server, not only wasn’t hospitable or attentive to our needs, we saw her offer parking validations to two other tables, which the customers were white and possibly Persian.
She offered them smiles, parking validations, etc., but when it came to our table, not only did she not offer parking validations she also didn’t even thank us for coming out. Fast forward, me and my Asian girlfriend leave the restaurant, but I turn around to request a parking validation. The same Asian server reluctantly takes my ticket, goes back to the register to where I assume she’s validating my parking, then returns to give me my ticket with a pokerface.
We get to the parking lot to enter our ticket into the meter, and the meter shows that my ticket was not validated. At this point, it’s not about the money, because I have money, it was about her reluctance and the passive discrimination that me and my girlfriend felt. I won’t claim that the server is racist, but I do know what racism feels like being a black man in a predominantly white community and my partner also felt the passive racism. I won't be returning to that location and I hope no other POC experiences...
Read moreHighly recommend this place! We loved celebrating my partner’s birthday here! The manager, service staff, and owner were all so welcoming to our party. They left a great impression and it felt more intimate than most restaurants.
If you’re hoping to celebrate birthday, I highly recommend this place.
They helped store our cake in the fridge during the meal, helped light the cake and place their own candles in as well after the meal! Unlike many restaurants, this place did not charge for doing all this either. They were organized and had a protocol.
Major props to the woman who made the entire experience wonderful. We came by when the manager at Sherman Oaks came by to help this location out (the gorgeous woman with pink hair, glasses, outfit, and pink hello kitty lighter). Not only did she was on point with her style but her management was impeccable. She stopped by and made sure we were all good, helped ended our celebration with a bang. The owner Danny even welcomed us and honestly it felt so nice meeting the people who made this restaurant it is today.
Overall the food was amazing, look at the reviews, and the pictures. It was perfect for our party that had a mix of vegetarians and paleo eaters, the menu was so diverse. Food came with a steady flow, and my friend even commented that the food was better than Silverlakes. The service staff were all so personable. They also have outdoor seating that’s perfect for a doggo outting with friends.
Again, highly recommend this place for birthdays, casual outings, and...

I recently had an exceptional dining experience at Bacari GDL, and I couldn't be more thrilled to share it. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by Alex, our incredible host and bartender. Her expertise and charm truly enhanced our visit.
Food We started our culinary journey with the Brussels sprouts, which were deliciously prepared and bursting with flavor. Following that, we enjoyed the chicken breast, paired beautifully with Asian pear bri pizza 🍕—a culinary highlight that I highly recommend. The combination of sweet pears and creamy cheese on the pizza was absolutely delightful. The pasta dish we selected was also fantastic, showcasing the kitchen’s creativity and skill. Each dish was crafted with attention to detail and provided a memorable dining experience.
Drinks Alex customized our drinks to suit my preference for mezcal, crafting two standout cocktails: the Bacarita and the Naked and Famous. Each sip was a delightful treat, complementing the food perfectly.
Dessert To round off the meal, we savored the feta felo for dessert, which truly knocked it out of the park. It was a refreshing and unique end to an already incredible meal.
Conclusion As a thoughtful gesture, Alex surprised us with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to finish off our evening, which was a lovely touch. The service and overall vibe made the experience even more enjoyable. I will definitely be returning to Bacari GDL for more culinary delights and excellent hospitality. Highly...
