Los Angeles’ Most Instagrammable Restaurant Loved by Influencers

I’d heard so much about the hype around Girl & the Goat in Chicago over the past few years, so when I found out they opened a location in LA’s Arts District, I knew I had to visit. I was especially excited to experience Stephanie Izard’s unique culinary style. Finally got the chance to try it recently, and while the ambiance was absolutely stunning—super photogenic 📸—and the dishes were bold and creative (not bad at all, honestly!), I realized the flavor profile just isn’t my personal preference. 🤦😂😆 🎍 Even before you step inside, the bohemian-inspired decor catches your eye. The interior takes the relaxed, rustic-chic vibe to another level—spacious, filled with natural light and linen tones, and decorated with lush greenery everywhere 🌿. Even the drinks are garnished with marigolds! The menu feels fresh and vibrant, though I noticed that some of the more whimsical, “girl-friendly” dishes seem to be reserved for brunch. 🍴 The dishes are globally inspired but focus heavily on Californian produce. We tried the Roasted Beets with Yuzu Broth and Party Nuts, the Goat Liver Mousse with English Muffins, and the King Salmon Crudo. Each dish celebrates bold, singular flavors with so much passion and energy! But if you’re someone who enjoys complex, layered seasonings, you might find them a bit one-dimensional. That said, the Mango Sticky Rice with Tamarind Ice Cream at the end was a real standout. 👌 🐐 As a restaurant centered around “goat,” there are plenty of goat-related elements here—goat meat, goat milk, and goat cheese appear in many dishes. Since I’m not the biggest fan of gamey flavors, the distinct goat taste stood out a bit strongly for me. Besides that, I felt each dish was very “full-on,” emphasizing one particular flavor in a powerful way. I generally prefer more balanced and nuanced tastes. Maybe my expectations were too high, but overall, it felt like the hype outweighs the flavor for me. That said, it’s undeniably an Instagram-worthy spot! 🤳💖 If you’ve been here too, I’d love to hear your thoughts! 💬 #100FoodChallenge #FoodExploration #Gourmet #WeekendEats #HiddenRestaurantGems #GoatDishes #InstagramSpot #TrendyRestaurant #LAFoodGuide #LADining #LocalFavoriteEats #LocalsRecommend #MustTryLocal #LocalHiddenGem
