Los Angeles's No-Signature Speakeasy Bistro 🥂🌙
Virgil Street is such a fascinating place—packed with trendy spots, but there’s this one unmarked little restaurant I always pass by that’s always full! 🧐 Finally tracked it down on Google Maps: 🥂 Voodoo Vin 🥂 Mediterranean cuisine 🍅🌿 For drinks, I highly recommend their Sparkling Riesling—so rich with honey notes! 🍯✨ My friend ordered the Rosé—milder, with a delicate floral aroma. 🌷 Must-try appetizer: Roasted eggplant dip with sesame flatbread 🍆🫓 Absolutely add sheep feta cheese! 🧀 I’m usually not a fan of goat cheese, but the server insisted—and wow, no gaminess at all! It actually elevated the whole dish. The eggplant dip is tangy and sweet, with fresh mint, paired with creamy cheese and soft bread—perfect harmony! 👌💚 We also tried the tomato-cucumber salad 🍅🥒 but it was pretty basic, nothing special. Main course: Saffron chicken baked rice—looks like a golden wedding banquet cake or Chinese “Malay cake” 🍚🐔 The rice itself is lightly seasoned, and the crust is a bit too crispy, but sprinkle a little sea salt and pair it with these mysterious pickled berries… unexpectedly delicious! 🫐🔥 ⚠️ If you’re not into light, subtle “white people food,” maybe skip this one! But sitting roadside under the summer moon with a glass of wine? Absolutely magical. 🌃🍷 #100RestaurantsChallenge #HiddenGemEatery #VibeDining #FoodAndFun #LADining #LAWine #LALowkeySpots #LAEats #LAFoodFinds
