Los Angeles | A Michelin French Restaurant Absolutely Worth Returning

Note: This restaurant permanently closed in March 2024 — don’t make a trip for it now! Verdict: This was my favorite restaurant so far this year 💯. I’ve tried quite a few fine dining spots, but Manzke ranks in the top three for service! 💰 Tasting Menu Weekdays: $265/person | Weekends: $295/person 🍷 Wine Pairing Normal: $165 | Reserve: $295 We went with the $295 vintage pairing — mostly European wines, with a thoughtful focus on female winemakers. Big plus! 🔝 ✨ Potato Chip A bit oily, but topped with caviar and tzatziki — super refreshing and appetizing. ✨ Tostada Inspired by the chef’s childhood in San Diego and trips to Mexico 🥰. Bluefin tuna with salsa fresca was incredibly refreshing 🍸, and the margarita pairing instantly transported me to a sunny Mexican beach. ✨ New Zealand Sea Bream Sashimi-style bream paired with light, clean-finishing sake — a perfect match. ✨ Kaluga Caviar & Laminated Brioche I would come back just for this bread! 🔥 Crispy outside, soft inside, served with Krug Champagne (the “Rolls-Royce of champagne”). Caviar + brioche + Krug = pure perfection 💯. ✨ Dungeness Crab A Thai curry crab dish paired with a slightly sweet Riesling to balance the spice. ✨ Santa Barbara Red Abalone Chewy abalone with a delicate chawanmushi. The white wine had enough body without overpowering the delicate egg texture. ✨ Nova Scotia Halibut Fresh and tender fish with juicy white asparagus.
