Los Angeles | Always a Delight – Bavel 🥘✨

Whenever someone asks me for restaurant recommendations in LA, Bavel is always at the top of my list! 🏆 This time, I finally made it back for another visit. Located in DTLA, Bavel is the sister restaurant of the wildly popular Italian spot Bestia. The restaurant follows a family-style dining concept, perfect for sharing a variety of flavorful small plates. What’s truly impressive is that even after five years, their signature dishes still shine brightly! ✨ Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but here are my personal favorites: 💛 Chicken Liver Pâté – The pomegranate glaze balances the richness of the liver perfectly, with just the right touch of sweetness. Served with toasted sesame-buckwheat bread—the nutty aroma and savory flavor are absolutely irresistible! Everyone loved it~ 💛 King Oyster Mushroom Kebab – Topped with a unique blend of spices, the mushrooms are grilled to juicy, meaty perfection. A must-order every time! 😋 💛 Grilled Prawns – Marinated in harissa and served with cucumber-yogurt sauce. A classic Mediterranean dish done right! 🍤 💛 Lamb Neck Shawarma – Tender enough to melt in your mouth, with no gaminess at all. Even my parents couldn’t stop praising it! 🐑 💛 Oxtail Tagine – Slow-cooked until fall-apart tender, infused with cherries and a subtle hint of cinnamon. Served with coconut-infused rice—so unique and delicious! 🍚 Back in the day when I wasn’t much of a drinker, I thought their cocktails were great, but this time they felt just okay. For dessert, we tried the spiced caramel ice cream—kind of like an Middle Eastern take on affogato! 🍦 Bavel, much like LA itself, has this effortlessly cool and relaxing vibe.
