Los Angeles | Bring Your Crush to This Retro-Themed Date Spot 💕
This restaurant is oozing with vintage charm and has such a great atmosphere! The staff are stylish, and we spotted three couples on dates around us 🥰~ It specializes in Chinese Malaysian cuisine, and the chef, Johnny Lee, is apparently a pretty well-known name in LA 👨🍳~ The menu isn’t huge, but the flavors are distinctive~ (We tried the chicken wings—pretty standard, you can skip ’em lol) Three of us ordered three main dishes and still couldn’t finish everything! 1⃣️ Char Koay Kak If you like stir-fried carrot 🥕 shreds with meat, you’ve gotta try this! The carrot is cooked until tender and flavorful, with a nice oily wok aroma. The rice cakes are soft and chewy—so good~ 2⃣️ Char Kway Teow Stir-fried rice noodles with great wok hei! Not bad at all~ Loaded with 🦐 shrimp—super satisfying. 3⃣️ Wangyu Beef Cheek Rendang 🌟🌟🌟 Absolutely incredible! The beef is slow-cooked until melt-in-your-mouth tender. Served with 🍞 roti—wrap it up and enjoy. So delicious 😋 (A bit rich if you eat too much, but totally worth it!) 🍧 Cendol Sundae Looks gorgeous but the taste was just okay, imo~ The combination of cereal, coconut ice cream, red beans, and pandan jelly noodles felt a little unusual 😅… Might not be for everyone, but give it a try if you’re curious~ Overall, not the best meal in LA, but the dishes are unique and the vibe is cute~ Loved the birthday shoutout board on the wall—such a fun touch 🎂! So many couples here—worth mentioning again 🥰!! 💰: Around $200 for 3 people 📍 Address: 3107 Beverly Blvd. #DinnerTonight #LAEats #LosAngelesLife #LAFoodGuide #DateNightSpot #RetroVibes #BeverlyDining #MalaysianCuisine #CelebrityChef
