Los Angeles | This Theater and Its Market Are Adorable to the Max

šŸŽˆI first learned about this theater while driving through downtown and spotted their old puppet theater! The cute designs instantly captured my heart. I quickly looked it up online and even subscribed to their newsletter. Since then, I’ve slowly started to engage with their various activities and found out about their occasional Bob Baker Day events! This time, I finally made it~ šŸ‘•From a distance, I could see the theater blowing bubbles, someone was interacting with kids using marionettes, and there was even ice cream available at the entrance – it was pure joy! Inside, wow, the entire theater was super cute! The colors, decorations, and puppets were all so dreamy. They had invited many community vendors that fit the puppet theater’s style to set up stalls, making the experience even more enriching and fun~ Puppets were performing all around, interacting with the kids, creating a truly warm atmosphere. šŸØThere was also an old-fashioned piano moved from the old theater playing continuously, providing such a retro background music! There was a brief history of the theater, how it started in downtown and later moved to Highland Park. The whole relocation and design process made the theater even more interesting. The staff were kind enough to invite us backstage for a look; the kids were super curious about the puppet restoration and the over 3000 puppets stored there, completely captivated. šŸ›ļøThe most popular stall at the market outside was the one spraying designs onto T-shirts. With graffiti-style designs, the kids were lining up in a super long queue. Although it was $50 for a shirt, it was so cool, haha! The gift shop was also definitely worth a visit, with lots of interesting merchandise. I couldn’t resist buying a theater-shaped pin and a T-shirt designed by Braindead for them – I just couldn’t love it more~ šŸŽThey also occasionally have puppet shows, so be sure to keep an eye out! There’s a special Halloween edition performance coming up, and I can’t wait! #CaptureTheMoment #LosAngeles #LosAngelesLife #ChronicleOfARomanticLife #PuppetTheater #PuppetShow
