Los Angeles | This Theatre and Its Market Are Just Adorable ❤️
The first time I discovered this theatre was while driving through downtown. I spotted their old puppet theatre at the original location! The cute designs instantly captured my heart. So, I quickly looked them up online and even subscribed to their newsletter. Since then, I’ve been gradually getting involved in their various events and learned about their occasional Bob Baker Day celebrations. This time, I finally made it! 🎭 From a distance, I could see the theatre blowing bubbles, with people carrying string puppets interacting with kids. There was even ice cream at the entrance—it was such a joyful scene! 🍦 Upon entering, wow, the entire theatre was incredibly charming! The colors, decorations, and puppets were all so dreamy. They also invited community vendors whose stalls perfectly matched the puppet theatre’s style, making the experience even richer and more fun. Puppets were roaming around, interacting with kids, and the atmosphere was incredibly warm and welcoming. 🎭 Inside the theatre, there was an old-fashioned piano from the original location, playing nostalgic tunes. There was also a brief introduction to the theatre’s history—how it started in downtown and later moved to Highland Park. The entire relocation and design process made the theatre even more fascinating. The staff were super kind and invited us backstage, where my kid was mesmerized by the puppet restoration process and the impressive collection of over 3,000 puppets. 😍 The most popular spot at the market outside was the spray-painted T-shirt booth. With graffiti-style designs and interesting patterns, kids were lining up in long queues. Although each T-shirt cost $50, they looked super cool! 🖌️ The gift shop was also worth exploring, with lots of fun merchandise. I couldn’t resist buying a theatre-shaped pin and a T-shirt designed by Braindead—absolutely loved them! 😍 They also occasionally have puppet shows, so keep an eye out! There’s even a special Halloween performance coming up—can’t wait! 🎃 Bob Baker Marionette Theater #DocumentingLife #LosAngeles #LivingInLA #RomanticLife #PuppetTheatre #PuppetShow
