Los Angeles Brown Mountain Dam Shaded Trail Hike 🌲🏞️
After a one-week break due to classes and Father’s Day, our hiking routine is back this week! We explored the Brown Mountain Dam Trail—a serene and refreshing escape into nature. The Brown Mountain Dam, built in 1942 during World War II by the U.S. Forest Service, stands about 81 feet high and was the first dam constructed in the Los Angeles River Basin. During the wet season, water cascades vertically down the dam, forming a stunning curtain-like effect—a true scenic highlight amidst the forest. 🚰💦 The trail winds through several lush canyons with abundant tree cover, offering plenty of shade and a relatively flat path. It’s so peaceful and easygoing that we chatted and laughed our way through the entire route without even breaking a sweat! 😄👣 Length: 9 miles Elevation gain: 656 feet Time taken: 4 hours Perfect for a relaxed yet invigorating day out in nature! 🌿☀️ #LALife #HikeTheWorld #ScenicHikes #LAHikingGroup #LATrailRoutes #NatureWalk #ForestTrail #DamViews #EasyHike #WeekendAdventure
