Los Angeles Pasadena β This American BBQ Spot Was Worth the Trip! π
On March 8th, Goddess Day, my friend and I were strolling around Old Town Pasadena. Craving some meat for lunch, we found this BBQ spot on Google Maps. We arrived right at lunch hour β street parking in front was full, and their back lot was packed too. We ended up parking in the nearby neighborhood (free street parking!) and entered through the back door to order at the front. Wow π β the place was packed! Definitely a popular spot. Classic long bar, traditional American diner-style tables and chairs, busy and buzzing, with a cozy dim lighting vibe inside. We had our dog with us, so we chose outdoor seating. The breeze was nice, and it was perfect (later, the outdoor area filled up too! π ). First time here, and since we're all carnivores (2 adults + 1 kid), we started with the Iron Skillet Cornbread as an appetizer. The top had a caramelized crust β a bit sweet if you bite into that part, but the cornbread underneath was just fine π. For mains, we ordered: Grass-Fed Angus Beef Ribs Amish Pork Ribs (full rack β the server double-checked with me π) Each came with 2 sides (we picked mashed potatoes, long beans, brown rice, and fries). The beef ribs were super tender and cooked perfectly! The pickles and pickled onions on the side were amazing too. If I had to nitpick β the portion felt a bit small for American standards (just one rib). The pork ribs were flavorful too, though the texture was a bit rougher (typical for pork ribs). We ended up taking leftovers home! π₯€ Their house-made lemonade was fantastic β refillable and just the right sweetness. Even with the crowd, service was frequent and super friendly β definitely worth the 20% tip we happily left π. Total for the meal: $132 (including 20% tip). My friend treated me β so grateful for amazing friends who take care of everything! π For those planning to visit β Iβd recommend ordering a combo so you can try a bit of everything π. π Address: 808 Fair Oaks Ave, South Pasadena, CA 91030 #LAFood #PasadenaEats #BBQ #AmericanBBQ #FoodReview #MeatLovers #OutdoorDining
