I used to love this place before this experience, but after last night it's a no more, never again for me. We got there around 1030 pm it Says they close at 0000. So we had an hour and a half to eat and chat. We get a seat and the entire time we are being rushed. The server is rushing us to pick something, so we do. Then they rushed to cook our food. The guy turned the heat up very high to cook the food fast and all the food came out overdone and burnt. Never happened before been here 3 times before. The server was in such a rush that the raw meat was touching the cooked meat because he threw it all on there at the same so they could close. Not even halfway through he brought us the check and kept telling us to pay. We said we thought the closing time was midnight why is everything being rushed. He said "myself I would never come to a resturant within 2 hours of closing because they youre going to get rushed service. I would never" It reallt sucks and is a bit frustrating that you spend 140$ on food and everything was burnt and overdone. I have had this place before and trust me it was my favorite. As of now I will never return. Everytime I asked for something like extra napkins. He would look down for a second and sigh as if I was taking up too much time. They brought the bill right after we ordered out food and kept telling me and my boyfriend to pay now. My boyfriend again reminded him we still have an hour. He said nope you gotta pay now so we csn process everything. He would be cooking and would grab the check with one hand and shake it around to remind us. How do you put cooked meat, then throw the rest of the 3 different meats on the grill to hurry it up. Allowing the raw meat to touch the cooked meat. Then when he saw my face he took the tongs (which was cooking raw meat) to move the cooked meat. Its weird I have never felt so rushed in my life. I understand we have 1 hour and 30 until closing. We don't get off work until late and was craving this place because before it was so delish. The heat was turned up so high to cook the meat fast. Good quality meat costing me 140$ overcooked and burned and the service people was rushing us. Then as I was almost done the last lady came over took all the meat and put it on plates so she could clean up (we still have 25 minutes ) and said "leave your tip at the front. When you leave" since they made us pay as soon as we sat down basically . Overall worst experience which is sad because I had really good experiences with this place. If they close not another time, they should list and not say closing time is 0000....
Read moreI’ve been wanting to go here for over a year, but life kept getting in the way. I’m happy to report that I finally made the trip and the meal exceeded all expectations, it was excellent.
Korean BBQ is always a treat. So that you’re aware of my background and if my review is worth continuing I’ll say that I love Korean food and eat it frequently, including trips to Korea, but wouldn’t consider myself an expert, (just an enthusiast, lol).
With that out of the way I’ll say that the food was excellent. I wasn’t able to get more pictures because I was distracted by my heavenly meal. We ordered combo 2, an extra plate of marinated beef short rib, Mondu, and popcorn chicken. It was way, WAY, more than enough for 2 adults and 2 kids, but we just wanted to try it all. I’ll add here that while the place is very loud (in a fun and energetic way), it was fine for my young children.
The food is cooked for you at the table. I didn’t realize this and typically enjoy cooking it for myself, but our server was very friendly/knowledgeable, and skilled, so I was grateful for his help. You’re given a small tray with seasonings for your meat, my favorite was the matcha salt, but all were tasty. With the combo everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious, my favorite meat was the marinated beef short rib, it was incredible.
The combo also came with a kimchi stew that blew my mind. I’d happily sit and eat just that for lunch. It was hearty and just sliced enough, I loved it. There was also a delicious salad and some assorted sides. All were great. There was an egg dish, and while prepared well it was a little plain for me, it was the only thing I didn’t love. The seasoned tofu was great, the texture...
Read moreBeware! My husband and I dined here last night for the first time. The food was good and all, but upon leaving my husband left his wallet on the seat. He realized it within 5 mins of leaving the restaurant and when he came back to get it, the staff told him no! They said they didnt see it and he couldn't look for it, that we had to wait till the end of the night to get it. Mind you, my husband had a tile tracker in his wallet that was pinging it inside the restaurant. We dont live In LA, going back to the restaurant is a drive so we were made to wait for 3 HOURS for them to close just to be told they still didnt find it and we had to come back tomorrow after they cleaned up. Again my husband showed them the tracker that his wallet was inside and they didn't care. He asked multiple staff members who blew him off. Today, my husband drove back to retrieve the wallet and they said they still didn't find it!!! Again, my husbands tile said it was still inside the restaurant. They showed my husband another wallet they found that wasn't his, but said they couldn't help him.
I understand it was my husbands mistake for leaving his wallet in the first place, but have you ever heard such a weird policy? Have you ever left something behind at a restaurant and they outright refused to help you find it, or wouldn't willingly return it? Its beyond sketchy. Idk if the workers have some weird rule where if they find something they keep it...it just doesnt make sense to me. Needless to say, I will never give this place my business again. If my husband and I were Karen's we would have called the police but thankfully we will just cancel our cards and never step foot in this sketchy run...
