Louisville
My colleague got super lucky and snagged a last-minute reservation for the chef’s tasting menu at MeeshMeesh 🍽️, a Mediterranean restaurant in Louisville that usually has a months-long waitlist! I got to tag along and enjoy this gorgeous meal too. 😍 “Meesh” probably comes from the Arabic word “Mish” (apricot) 🍑. The chef was even named a semi-finalist for the 2025 James Beard Award 🏆. Honestly, when my friends were freaking out about scoring the reservation, a little part of me was like… “Pfft, what do Americans know about good food? Everything’s just ‘OMG it’s so good’ to them.” 😅 Well, I take it all back—I was totally wrong. This place proved me completely wrong. 🙈 The restaurant decor and tableware were beautiful, the vibe was perfect, and the service was super warm and welcoming. Everyone was dressed so nicely too 👗💄. The most amazing dishes were the roasted cauliflower and the lamb 🥩, and all the dips were absolutely delicious 😋. When that little jar of veggie dip came out first, it reminded me of “Big Harvest” (a Chinese veggie platter dish) 🥒. I was dipping scallions in hummus and telling my friends, “Where I’m from, the scallions are taller than me—we even have annual scallion competitions!” They thought I was making it up 🤣. The mocktails were so good—no alcohol but totally mood-lifting 🥂. It was such a fun Friday night! ✨ But real talk—if it weren’t for the fact that we had a meal allowance from a work event and could expense part of it 💼🐑, we probably wouldn’t have come on our own dime lol (well, at least that’s true for me 😜). #LouisvilleKentucky #MediterraneanFood #FoodieExperience #ChefsTasting #JamesBeardAward
