I wanted to share my experience from yesterday at MeeshMeesh. Mediterranean, It was my birthday, and I had called ahead to check for an appointment. The team kindly mentioned they could accommodate me, which made me really happy.
Initially, everything started off well, but unfortunately, things didn’t go as expected later. After placing my order, I received an uncooked falafel, although the cauliflower dish was quite good. I had to send the entire falafel back, which was disappointing, especially on a special occasion.
We ordered our mains, but by mistake, two sample plates were served to our table. We didn’t touch them, but the server said we could have them since they were already served. That situation made us uncomfortable as serving people around started whispering and talking about it. From that point, we couldn’t enjoy our meal and decided to take our mains to go.
I also requested a hummus refill from the salatim, but no one came back. I tried to get the server’s attention several times, but we were ignored. When I mentioned it later while trying to order dessert, they apologised and said they thought they had already given it.
For dessert, I ordered the Brown Butter Knafeh to go. Unfortunately, the ice cream had melted by the time i reach home, and I was told to microwave knafeh for a minute or more. When I did, the dessert burned and burst because it was frozen with cheese on top. It was disappointing, especially for something that cost $13 plus tax.
For the kind of experience we had, it’s disheartening considering what we pay ,who value good service and hospitality — including tips and care for the staff. If guests are going to be judged despite paying for their meal, this place simply isn’t worth it. I wouldn’t recommend Meesh Meesh to anyone looking for a genuine Mediterranean dining experience.
P.S Kindly check with Ali, the server who attended to us. As mentioned, we were told that sample plates were offered after the falafel was taken back — however, that is not what happened. While we were speaking with Ali, another server placed the plates on our table, and later Ali mentioned, “That’s not your plate, but you can have it.” If you have camera footage, please review it for clarity.
Regarding the dessert, I specifically confirmed with Ali before taking it out whether I could take it home or needed to eat it there. He clearly told me that I could take it home and just warm it in the microwave for one minute, so I agreed. If it wasn’t meant for takeaway, I’m not sure why the ice cream was served in a small plastic box and the kunafa was frozen — I’m certain of this.
I even called the store once I returned home, manager mentioned staff made mistake as desert is not suppose to take out and they apologies and offered either provide a new dessert or a refund. I told them I would accept whatever the management decided. The manager said she would discuss it and get back to me.
However, today I received an email that contains incorrect information, which is quite disappointing. never expect this from respected place like meesh meesh and Please verify the details with your staff and review the footage, as the events have not been accurately...
Read moreMy fiancé and I came out Saturday night to celebrate our engagement. He had made a reservation for the first of November originally, as he planned to propose on Halloween, but the date changed and Meesh Meesh was happy to change the date of our reservation when an opening came up!
We were seated as soon as we arrived for our reservation and our server, Colton, came by and gave a rundown of the place for us.
He was super sweet and very informative. His overall vibe and attitude really made our night; as a server myself, I understand that having a positive attitude can really make or break the experience of a table. He was efficient and fast but also personable.
We ordered a couple things to share. We split the cauliflower, the za'tar fries, and the salmon. I also ordered their apricot margarita. It was super refreshing.
The cauliflower was very tasty! It came with a garlic dip and an apricot chutney/curry sauce that was very nice. Mildly sweet and well spiced.
The za'tar fries were nice. Very savory, herby, and a perfect match to the toum that came with it. I will admit, they were a tad salty towards the end of the bowl, even for me, a self-proclaimed salt lover.
Between our appetizers and entree, they brought out our salatim. My fiancé liked the pumpkin spread, but he LOVED the pita. It was soft, fluffy, and very pleasing to eat. I tried a little bit of everything with it from our platter. The bean salad was very yummy and their hummus was nice and smooth.
The salmon was a wonderful choice for us to split. It was perfectly cooked. I really liked the tomato stew and chickpeas that came with it and dipped my remaining pita in it throughout the meal.
It was a perfect amount of food for us. We were pretty full but still decided to get a dessert; it was a special occasion, after all!
We got the chocolate babka with cream cheese frosting after asking our server to pick between two items. To our surprise, our server brought us each out a glass of wine to celebrate our engagement. Colton confirmed with my fiancé, who does not drink alcohol, that he didn't drink, and gave him a n/a wine so he could still be included.
They gave us a candle to blow out and congratulated us, and left us to eat possibly the best dessert we've ever had at a restaurant. It was sweet, salty, and warm. A perfect size for the two of us to split after such a filling meal.
Upon receiving the check, we were surprised to see that our dessert had been comped off. Considering we had been given wine for free, we totally expected to still pay for our babka. It was very thoughtful of Colton and the restaurant!
The only small gripe I have is that after we paid, someone bussed our dessert plate while I was still picking at it. There was like a bite left and I had my fork set down, so I can see how it may have looked like we were finished, so no hard feelings!
This was one of the best dining experiences my fiancé and I have ever had. We walked out blown away by the food and the atmosphere and talked about it the whole ride home. We're very thankful for the staff of Meesh Meesh and our server, Colton, for giving us such a wonderful and memorable...
Read moreUpon entering MeeshMeesh, you are not just embarking on a dining experience, but a cultural and culinary journey. The name, which translates to 'apricot' in both Hebrew and Arabic, speaks of unity, diversity, and shared traditions. Located in Louisville, the restaurant is a shining beacon of what happens when love for food and community come together.
When we first glanced at the menu, the notion of "shareables" was evident. The dishes are curated to bring back the feeling of a shared family meal, where everyone digs in, laughs, and enjoys together. The mains, as observed, are generous enough to satiate a group of four, making it a perfect spot for family dinners or gatherings with friends.
Starting with the appetizers, we found them to be surprisingly hearty and fulfilling. The distinct taste profile, characterized by delicate layers of spices, was evident in every bite. The Shawarma Spiced Chicken Thighs were a standout, with their impeccable char and the punch of amba and jalapeño schug sauces.
Accompanying the mains, the SALATIM is a feast in itself. From the creamy hummus to the tangy Spiced Carrots & Raisins, every component was a dance of flavors. A special mention goes to the pita bread – it was nothing short of delightful, thicker than your regular pita, and just waiting to be filled with the abundant offerings of MeeshMeesh.
Jennifer, a seasoned traveler with a discerning palate, had high praises for the hummus, stating it might be one of the best she's ever had. However, she felt the falafel did not hit the same mark. The rice was subtle yet full of nuanced flavors, and the Turkish coffee paired with Baklavah was the perfect ending to our meal.
The "What's up doc?" cocktail, a vivacious blend of lemon, carrot, ginger, and vodka, was refreshingly unique and something we'd recommend to everyone.
The ambiance was warm and welcoming, with an inviting outdoor seating option. We chose to sit inside, where the cozy atmosphere enveloped us, making our dining experience even more memorable.
For those looking forward to future visits, the Haifa Hot Chicken with its tantalizing combination of pickles, harissa crisp, pita, and creamy toum is a must-try.
