📔 Lyon Restaurant Diary 26 | Flair

Google-rated 4.8 stars, the French restaurant Restaurant Flair proves that you don't need a Michelin star to be deliciously good. 🚶‍♂️ The restaurant is a 5-minute walk from Perrache, making it conveniently accessible by public transport or car. The establishment underwent a renovation at the beginning of 2024 (I know because my reservation was canceled, citing incomplete renovations), so all the facilities are brand new, including central air conditioning. The paper lamp shades add a touch of Eastern charm. The semi-open kitchen is at the far end of the room, allowing guests to observe the bustling back of the house. 💶 The dinner menu offers a choice of three courses. On the day we visited, there were three appetizers, two main courses, and two desserts. You can opt for the standard three-course menu, priced around 40 euros, with slight variations depending on the season and dishes. If, like us, you want to taste as many different dishes as possible, you can choose the 54-euro degustation menu, which includes 2 appetizers + 2 main courses + 2 desserts. If you're dining as a couple, you can sample every dish on the menu (since there are three appetizers, and you can only choose two). 🍸 In addition to the regular wine list, the restaurant also offers a selection of three recommended wines for 19 euros, matched in advance with the day's menu and served alongside each course. If you're a fan of wine or unsure about what you'd like to drink, I recommend going for the daily wine pairing. 🍗🥐 I had high expectations for the "Japan touch" mentioned, but after dining, I felt that the Japanese influence wasn't very strong, mainly evident in one special appetizer. In other aspects, it's probably just the use of miso sauce. From the ambiance, service, to the dishes, it was a fantastic experience, leaving diners fully satisfied without any disappointments. #Lyon #LyonFood #LyonExploration #FrenchCuisine #LifeInFrance
